Why this is worth knowing early

A contractor licensing exam is often open book, and preparing for one is largely about tabbing your references and practicing lookups. Preparing for this exam is about recall, and the difference is not marginal.
- Every timeframe has to be memorized, not looked up
- Every calculation has to be done from a formula you already know
- Every threshold - tolerance, HOEPA, points and fees - comes from memory
- There is no book to fall back on when a question is unfamiliar
Write one out. Use it while practicing. Then rebuild it from memory on a blank sheet until it comes out complete, because that blank-sheet version is the one that goes in with you.
The one thing you can carry in
Whatever you can write down in the first minute after the clock starts, if the center permits scratch material.
