What score do you need to pass?

Seventy-five, and it is not a percentage. The confusion is understandable because the number looks like one.

What scaling does

Multiple forms of the exam exist, built to the same blueprint and not identical in difficulty. One draw of eighty questions is always a little harder than another.

Scaling corrects for that, converting your raw score so that a given scaled score means the same competence whichever form you sat. The conversion is not published.

So how many can you miss?

Nobody outside the provider can tell you honestly.

Every site quoting an exact number is repeating something unverified. The number varies by form, and it is the one piece of information the provider has no reason to release.

What to aim for instead

Eighty per cent on a full-length mock, twice.

That target sits deliberately above any plausible threshold. It covers the unknown, a harder-than-average question draw, and the gap between a familiar practice bank and a live form.

Why practice percentages are not comparable

A practice bank reports a percentage of questions correct. The exam reports a scaled score. The two are on different axes and no arithmetic connects them.

Practice banks also tend to be easier, because the questions are not calibrated and cluster on the most-written-about topics.

What you actually receive

Pass or fail on screen, immediately. Some providers show the scaled score, some do not.

A failed attempt normally comes with relative performance by content area, which is more useful than any number.
