Eligibility. Two routes, with very different costs.
PTCB accepts a minimum of 500 hours of equivalent work experience, complete at application, with a supervisor attestation. That is roughly three months full-time. For a technician already working, the total cost of certification can genuinely be USD 129 plus study materials - and many people pay for a program without checking whether they needed to.
If you do need a program
A PTCB-Recognized Education/Training Program is a separate purchase from a separate provider, and prices vary widely. It will be much the largest line.
Get a quote rather than assuming a figure, and confirm the program is on PTCB's recognized list before paying.
