Yes, you almost certainly do. Rule 6A-4.0021(12) satisfies the general knowledge requirement only. The subject area examination for the field you want to teach and the professional education test are separate requirements with separate registrations, and no admissions test score touches either of them.
This is the follow-up to the good news, and it deserves its own page because the good news travels further than the qualification attached to it. People read that an SAT score can replace the General Knowledge Test and hear that an SAT score can replace the FTCE. Those are different sentences.
The FTCE is a family of examinations. The exemption covers one member of it.

Rule 6A-4.0021(12) is headed Alternative Assessments and its scope is stated inside it: the scores may be used as an acceptable means of demonstrating a mastery of general knowledge. Mastery of general knowledge. Not mastery of subject area knowledge, and not professional preparation.
The two that are left
The subject area examination tests the field you intend to teach, and there is one for each certification subject. The professional education test covers professional skills. Both are set by the same rule, both pass at a scaled score of 200, and both are registered and paid for separately from anything in the General Knowledge Test.
They also cost noticeably more per registration than a General Knowledge subtest does, which is worth planning for. We are deliberately not quoting figures for them here, because the numbers we publish are the ones we have verified against the source, and our verification work on this exam covered the General Knowledge rows of the fee schedule. Why this catches people at the worst moment
Because the exemption arrives as relief. A candidate who has been dreading a mathematics paper finds out their SAT covers it, closes the tab, and puts certification out of their mind for six months. The two remaining examinations are still there, still unstudied, and now on a shorter timeline than before.
Our advice is unglamorous. On the day you discover you are exempt, write down the two examinations you are not exempt from and find out which subject area examination applies to the field you want. That takes twenty minutes and it is the difference between a saved fee and a lost year.
Where the exemption genuinely does help
It is not nothing. General Knowledge is four separate registrations, four separate preparations and four separate results, and the published pass rates say a real minority fails each subtest. Removing all four takes out the piece with the most moving parts.
It also removes the piece that generates the most retakes. In 2025 the General Knowledge Test accounted for 34,252 subtest administrations from 10,120 unique examinees, an average of 3.38 administrations per person, and 37.2% of candidates across the FTCE and FELE retook at least one subtest. Exemption takes you out of that entirely.
What we cannot tell you
Whether your particular certification route needs anything beyond the three examinations. It probably does. A Professional Certificate rests on degree requirements and on demonstrated professional preparation as well as on examinations, and a Temporary Certificate lets a person teach while completing what is outstanding on their own timetable.
Those are Bureau of Educator Certification questions. Ask them in writing, keep the answer, and use prep sites for what prep sites are good for.

Is the subject area examination harder than General Knowledge?
We do not publish a comparison, because we hold FLDOE's General Knowledge figures and not a like-for-like reading of every subject area examination. What is certain is that it tests your specialism rather than general knowledge, so preparation looks completely different.
Does Sitonce cover the other two examinations?

Is passing all three examinations enough to be certified?
Not by itself. A Professional Certificate also depends on degree and preparation requirements assessed by the Bureau of Educator Certification. The examinations are one part of the route and the Bureau is the only body that can tell you what your own file still needs.
