PTCB publishes certification counts but not a per-attempt pass rate for the PTCE. Any percentage quoted for it has been estimated, and the 6 January 2026 blueprint change makes older estimates a poor guide to the current paper.

The position
PTCB does not publish a pass rate for the PTCE. There is no official figure to cite, quote or link.
What PTCB does publish is the standard: a scaled score of 1,400 on a range of 1,000 to 1,600.
So where do the numbers come from?
Estimation, and then repetition. A figure appears somewhere, gets cited, gets cited again, and eventually appears in enough places to look sourced.
Not a link to another prep site quoting a figure. A link to PTCB stating it. You will not find one, and the absence is the point rather than a gap in your searching.
Why old estimates are worse than usual
The content outline changed on 6 January 2026, moving weight onto Federal Requirements and Order Entry and off Medications and Patient Safety.
A pass rate observed before that date describes candidates sitting a differently weighted paper, prepared with differently weighted material. Even if the number were sourced, it would be measuring something else.
What to use instead
Nothing. A pass rate is not actionable information for an individual candidate in any case: it describes a cohort, most of whom prepared differently from you.
What is actionable is your own score on a full-length timed paper weighted to the current outline. That measures you rather than a population.
Why we say this rather than quoting a number
Because we would have to make one up. Every site quoting a PTCE pass rate is either estimating without saying so, or repeating someone who did.
