It depends which subtest. English Language Skills, Reading and Mathematics are scored immediately at the test center, so you leave knowing. The essay is rated by two qualified people at scoring sessions and takes about four weeks. A candidate sitting all four gets three answers on the day and one a month later.

Machine-scored multiple choice comes back instantly because nothing human has to happen to it. The essay cannot work that way. At least two independent qualified raters score each response holistically at standardized sessions, the two scores are summed, and Rule 6A-4.0021 sets the passing total at 6.
What the same-day result is worth
More than it looks, because the thirty-day retake clock runs from the administration rather than from the day you find out. Fail Mathematics and you already know, so your thirty days is already running and you can book the resit that evening. That is the practical value of instant scoring on this test.
It cuts the other way too. There is no gap in which to feel hopeful.
The essay wait is not wasted time
Four weeks of a thirty-day retake window burns off while the raters do their work, so a candidate who fails the essay can usually rebook almost at once. Nobody presents this as a feature and it more or less is one.
The concession we owe you here: we have no data on how tightly that four weeks holds, and it is a stated turnaround rather than a guarantee. Plan around it, do not build a certification deadline on it.
One result does not depend on another
Each subtest is passed on its own against a scaled score of 200, so nothing is held back waiting for the set to complete. Three same-day passes are three passes, and they do not expire while the fourth result makes its way to you.

Why does the FTCE essay take four weeks?
Because people score it. At least two independent qualified raters read each response holistically at standardized scoring sessions and their two scores are summed, with a passing total of 6 set by Rule 6A-4.0021.
Does the retake clock start from the result or the test date?
From the administration. Rule 6A-4.0021 requires at least thirty days since the previous administration of that examination, so the wait for an essay retake runs while the raters are still working.
Do I get one score report or four?
Each subtest is scored and passed separately against a scaled score of 200. Nothing is combined into an overall percentage, and no result is held back waiting for the other subtests to be sat.
Can I see how many questions I got right?
Your result is reported as a scaled score against the passing 200. FLDOE separately publishes what that scaled score was worth as a maximum percentage correct per subtest, but the raw count on your own version is not what gets reported.
